Book Review: Stir

Stir is the author's own story. At 28, Jessica had an aneurysm burst while she was out for a run. This event caused her to lose her sense of smell, and sight in her left eye. As she was recovering she decided to begin in the kitchen as soon as she could stir.

Cooking became her therapy. This book shows how food is connected to each of us and how it can have restorative powers not expected.

This book could have been depressing, but instead Jessica was able to find the humor in the events. Included in this book are 27 recipes that she turned to because of her enjoyment of them and as a comfort food.  I loved this book and would recommend it to all I know.

I was given this book by NetGalley and Penguin Group Avery in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to both of them.
