Last Ride to Graceland

I read this book a while ago and I thought that I had already reviewed it. I was shocked to see that I had not. Just looking at the title took me back into the beautiful story which took fiction and non-fiction and blended them into a beautiful harmony. Elvis, of course is the non-fiction part and the way the author was able to take his life and intertwine it with the rest of this story is beautiful. I believe this is a book for anyone, whether they are fans of Elvis or not, however, if they are it will be sweeter still.

When I requested this book from Waterbrook, I kept an open heart about what I would receive and I am very pleased. After looking at this book it is going straight to my grandchildren.

I like the was it helps children to see they can love other regardless of the other's skin tone, ethnicity, race or color. This book is meant to be used by parents/guardians/caregivers and children. I begins with an introduction and then gives some tips for using this book.

The author's goal is to have the reader come away with ways to use their imagination and their words to help them make it through this world filled with different hues.

I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to share it. I recommend it anyone that works with children at any level.

The Children by Ann Leary

Ann Leary was able to create an enjoyable story with characters that become dear to the heart while at the same time have trait that are quirky and unique. If you enjoy reading about what I consider to be a typical but messy family setting, this would be the book for you. It is filled with all the things that make this kind of book fun secrets within the family, discovered by someone new.

I enjoy stories like this that have twists and turns with characters that you feel with and for. I recommend this book highly

Traveling in the Dark

Emma Timpany wrote an enjoyable novella filled with such descriptions of the surroundings that I felt like I was in New Zealand and Greece. The main storyline of family and love were woven throughout the book.

Sarah came from a family that left her feeling worthless and confused while she tried to hold it all togeher.

As it is a novella, I do not want to tell to much to give it all away but it is worth the read. Not that it is all perfect, there are some aspects of the book that are hard to get through such as the uncaring way that the son is referred to as the child throughout the story. It felt uncomfortable and so unfeeling.

As I mentioned before this is a well-written book and is interesting to read.

Hot Pot Night

This is a fun book showing how a community comes together to make hot pot that they can all enjoy. Even when the hot pot is done they look forward to the next time. The illustrations are delightful and filled color and life to go with the story.

At the end of the story there is a family recipe for hot pot for all to enjoy, I highly recommend this book.

Murder Borrowed Murder Blue

This is a good cozy mystery series. I have not read the others, yet, but I am going to soon. The characters are fun and interesting and kept my interest. The plot was so good and would zig when I expected a zag. Kept me going to the end. I highly recommend it.

Crowned with Glory is a beautiful book in both its message and its illustrations. All children would be filled with delight at the rhyming words and the beautiful, colorful drawings.

Azira's story from childhood through adulthood opens up opportunities for parents and children to discuss God's plans for each of them, including those who may feel different from others. It is not made just for girls, little boys need these same words of affirmation. They also need to know that as adults these words have meaning to us since we were created by God and we are part of His plan also.
