Book Review: Oswald: Return of the King

I am intrigued by books from this time period. Until the last few years, I really did not know much about this time. But when I saw the summary of this book I knew that it would become one of my favorites. This is actually the second book in The Northumbrian Thrones series but I feel like it can stand on its own. Especially if the reader likes this era. At a time of vulnerability, the kings of Gwynedd and Mercia take run of land. Oswald dislikes all of the bloodshed and he wants to go to Iona and join the monks there. His former desires need to be reignited but how?

This book has everything to help put me right in the time period. There are kings, betrayals, power, politics and so much more.

I was given this book by NetGalley and Lion Hudson in exchange for my honest review.
