Book Review: The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy

Queenie is in a hospice surrounded by people that she does not really know. One day she received a postcard from Harold Fry asking her to hang on and letting her know he is making his way there step-by-step.

While waiting for this man, who has so many places in her heart, Queenie writes a letter, an honest letter, to her friend to say all the things she was never brave enough to say in person.

I was a teacher, at one time, once in a while a student would turn in a creation that deserved so much more than an A+, so I would write excellent, place a smiley face and place colorful stickers on it. This book deserves all of this and so much more. Even though I thought I knew how it would end up, and in a way it did, there were still little surprises that caught my breath and my heart all the way to the end.

This is not your one-size-fits-all love story. It is filled with so much wonderful detail that it fills the heart, the head and the soul. I had not read Rachel Joyce's book about Harold Fry, even though I do own it, but I did not feel like I needed to read it to understand Queenie and Harold.

I want to thank Rachel Joyce for this wonderful book. I know look forward to reading anything else you may have to write.

This book was given to me by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you
