Book Review: Brilliant

First of all, I know that this is a book written for middle school age readers, but I loved it. Part of the reason for this is the setting, and the next is it is told in such a fun manner.

Dublin has been hit by the depression. Everyone is unhappy and everyone is affected by it. Raymond and Gloria are siblings who decide to go out and stop The Black Dog of Depression, no matter what. They chase him everywhere throughout Dublin and other children join them. Soon there are thousand of children chasing the Black Dog and they have a plan.

I love how all the children of Dublin join in the chase to take care of this thing which has been bringing everyone down. Roddy Doyle is a brilliant writer and I can see many children, and their parents, picking this book up and enjoying it.

I was given this book by NetGalley and ABRAMS Kids in exchange for my honest review.
