Book Review: A Daily Invitation to Friendship with God

This book, A Daily Invitation to Friendship with God, is an excellent way to join a daily devotion, without having to spend vasts amount of time.

The book consists of different parts such as: The Creative Edge, The language of the Spirit, The Practical Side of Things and Celebrating the Living Word.

Each section is introduced with Scripture to reflect upon during the devotional time. Then each entry consists of short entries to take with you throughout the day. There are some that are then ended with a thought.

I found this to be a nice way to share time with God for those moments when I only have a minute or two. I think this would also be a great introduction to devotions to those who have not done them before.

Book Review: Heaven Declares

I have loved this wonderful way to begin my day. Actually, my hubby and I read it together at night. Each day there is a Bible verse to begin the session, then a short reflection on the reading. Then they follow up with a few Scriptures, a prayer and then our favorite part, the Decree and Declare section. These speak to things that we have been dealing with and help us to turn them over to God and to let them go. After all if you are declaring and decreeing them, they are meant to be followed.

The author D. Hakeem Collins is a minister, speaker and radio program producer.

Book Review: The Jerusalem Secret

The Jerusalem Secret, by Ron Cantor, is the second book in the Identity Theft Series. This historical fiction focuses on Judaism while encompassing the difficult topics of abuse and crucifixion.

David Lebowitz is a Messianic Jew who is educating his family on his faith. David time travels, with the aid of Ariel, to the times of the New Testament. 

This is the type of book that I truly enjoy. It involves history and fantasy to tell its story. Plus it includes background of the Church throughout.

I feel like anyone that enjoys the type of books I mentioned would also enjoy this book.

Silent Takeover, by Jacquelyn Sheppard, was a very interesting read. Through my life I have been around smokers, and I always wondered if this is set in our minds to follow them or not. This book helps to answer these questions.

It also talks about emotional and mental health issues, which many face. I feel it is a useful book for most of us, even if we aren't affected directly, we may know someone dealing with these issues. It also tells ways that we can help deal with these issues, such as changing diets. Prayer us also a useful tool to help deal with these items.

Such a useful book.

Book Review: Healthy and Free

 This a good book to look at how good health is important not only for our body, but our soul and spirit. The author, Beni Johnson, shares her own tale about health and the journey she has taken. Johnson also reminds us that the body we have was given to us by God, so we should take care of it.

Through easy-to-follow steps the reader is able to see how to take control of their own health. The chapters, or Tools for Health, include: Hydration; sleep; exercise; eating clean; detoxing and supplements.

This book is an important book for everyone and I cannot recommend it any higher than I do.

Book Review: The Day I was Crucified: As told by Christ Himself

I was very moved by this book of an account of Christ's crucifixion from his eyes. This fictionalized account of this time helped me to feel like I was right there watching the reactions and the emotions. It was able to take the four gospels and combine them in a way that I have not seen before.

It helps the reader to remember that Jesus was in human form during this time, so of course he would have seen it from this perspective with His Heavenly Father along with him. .

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to feel the love that God gives to each of us.

Book Review: Hand on the Line

When I received this book, I did realize that it says on the cover "Challenging Men to Follow God's Call." So I decided to get it as a book to read with my husband. This way I could give my honest review while seeing what my husband thinks.

It is aimed at men as it talks about the obstacles that Steve Wisniewski faced and how he handled them. This is a book of encouragment, and faith.The author was once considered a dirty player in the NFL. He saw things that needed to be changed in his life and he has praised God for showing him how to achieve these changes.

I can see this book as a Bible group or individual study guide.
