Letters from my Sister
This book, Letters from my Sister, was very touching. It touches on many emotions, including love and sadness. The sisters in this book overcome many things, and as I read it, I felt like I was a part of each of these experiences with them.
I highly recommend it.

One Word For Today
What a wonderful devotional book. This book gives one word as the heading, then there is a verse to think upon. The short reading is easy to fit into any busy day and it filled my heart with God's love.
Along with each of these there is a question, a prayer and a step for action.
I could see this as an individual, family or small group devotion. It could open the door for sharing thoughts.
I loved this devotional and would recommend it to everyone.

The Children by Ann Leary
Ann Leary was able to create an enjoyable story with characters that become dear to the heart while at the same time have trait that are quirky and unique. If you enjoy reading about what I consider to be a typical but messy family setting, this would be the book for you. It is filled with all the things that make this kind of book fun secrets within the family, discovered by someone new.
I enjoy stories like this that have twists and turns with characters that you feel with and for. I recommend this book highly

The Acorn Stories
The Acorn Stories tells about the lives of the people of Acorn, Texas so that it reads like a collection of short stories. I found myself not wanting to put this book down because I quickly felt like I belonged in this town. The stories tell about a community and how their lives are intertwined, as is the case in most small towns. I loved the glimpses into their lives in a relaxed style. Prepare to sink into a nice comfortable chair and make yourself home in Acorn, Texas.I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Where I Found You
This is a well written story about a difficult subject matter.Ruby is a three year old who doesn't talk much, and depends on routine. Her father walks out on her and her mom, Sara. However, Sara feels like there is something wrong with her little girl. Ruby is diagnosed with autism.
I have read many non-fiction books about autism but this is the first fictional one that grabbed my heart and helped me to see autism from the family perspective. This is so well-done that I felt like I was part of the family from the beginning.
Beautifully written. Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read the arc of this story.

Peaches and Creamed
This cute mystery is a part of a series but I had no difficulty getting into it. The characters and the writing are fun.In this book, Jane and Dale have gone to Colorado, staying in a B&B while they look for a place for their wedding. As is normal with Jane a murder is coming her way, as usual. With Dale there with her, they go about exploring the circumstances of the death.
I loved the way the murder was solved little-by-little while Dale and Jane continue their courtship. Also as usual, Karen C. Whalen includes recipes in the book. I now look forward to reading more by this author.
I recommend this book for those that enjoy cozy mysteries.

Book Review: A Woman's Lot
I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.I do want to let everyone know that I have not read the first book in the series. Where this is not an issue all the time, I highly recommend going back to read it first. Here is a synopsis of the book.
When A woman tries to increase her sheep she receive the rage of a peasant. A man is scolded by his wife when he give in to idle talk. A priest decides that women should stay in their place.
All of this occurred after the Black Death occurred and the deaths caused women to take a different place in the land. They needed to take a bigger role in society. However, the men fight against them using the Church's teachings to aid them.
This book offered an interesting view of the world during Medieval Times. At time it made me uncomfortable but books that do this are often books that offer a big award if you stay with it.
Excellent writing and characters.

Book Review: Daily Question for You and Your Child
I received this book from WaterBrook in exchange for my honest review. When I first glimpsed at the cover of this book, The Daily Question for You and Your Child, then read the description, I thought this is the perfect book for either me to share with my grandchildren or to give to my daughter. After looking at it I still feel that way.
This is a 3 year journal which has 365 questions in it. The pages are like diary entries with a each day having a place to put a response for each of three years. I think this is wonderful as children can change their responses each year when asked.
Some of the responses involve writing a short story about an object, or to say what makes them feel a certain way, like joyful. There are also questions about their creativity or telling about traditions. This is just a tiny bit compared to what else this book has in it. I wish I had a book like this when my children were small, but I am so glad it is available today.
For parents, grandparents or those that care for children I feel this is a special way to spend some one-on-one time with a child in your life.
I highly recommend it.

Evening With Tozer: Daily Devotional Readings
I feel like I have lived my Christian life growing with A.W. Tozer. I have read other books by him and they always leave me reflecting and refreshed. This book, Evenings With Tozer does the same. This book includes a reading for each day of the year. Each entry is composed of an overall thought, a verse and reflection which work together. I come away from each reading feeling even closer to God and his creation. I see this as an individual or a family devotion, a way to help a family feel a connection to God together. They speak to my heart the way they always have. Each entry helps a person grow in their Bible time and is meant to enrich this time.
Tozer began as a street preacher who became a self-educated man who spent his life reaching others as a a pastor, teacher and as a writer.

Book Review: Perfectly Undone
Cooper has just proposed to Dr. Dylan Michels, a woman who has worked for the life she has. Instead of accepting the proposal, which would seem the most natural thing for her to do, she says no. She has spent her entire life trying to be perfect....as a daughter, partner, doctor, yet she has never been able to get over the death of her sister. In order to accept Cooper's proposal, Dylan must face the role she had in her sister's death as well as the information that Cooper sends her way. This novel about forgiveness and looking-forward was so well-written, I had a hard time putting it down. The characters were rich and true-to-life.
When I first picked up the book, I did not like Dylan at all, but after she looks back at her life and decides to make some changes, she held more appeal for me. I found this book to be more enjoyable than I thought by the description and recommend it highly.
