The Stories of God (and Kiki)

 From the cover, all the way through the book, the illustrations are bright and engaging. Plus the story is broken into digestable pieces so children want to turn the page to see what is coming next. 

This is a very good book and I highly recommend it.

Crowned with Glory is a beautiful book in both its message and its illustrations. All children would be filled with delight at the rhyming words and the beautiful, colorful drawings.

Azira's story from childhood through adulthood opens up opportunities for parents and children to discuss God's plans for each of them, including those who may feel different from others. It is not made just for girls, little boys need these same words of affirmation. They also need to know that as adults these words have meaning to us since we were created by God and we are part of His plan also.

I love finding books that can help me to find a new or different way to look at the Bible. Core 52: A fifteen-Minute Daily Guide to Build Your Bible IQ in a Year is that book.The format of the Bible Study keeps me going. There is an essay centered around a key verse. Then there is also scripture to memorize or read, a challenge for the overachiever and suggestions for books which fit the week's theme. This book started with The Creation and moved on to themes that include prophesy, The Holy Spirit, grace and heaven along with others. 

I enjoyed taking my time with the essay at the beginning of the week and then they idea that we can meditate on this essay and the verse in different ways throughout the rest of the week. I admit I did not read the book in the way suggested because I could not wait to share this book, in a review, with others. However, it has also inspired my husband to use the book in their Wednesday Bible Study.
I believe this book will help others to increase their IQ in Biblical ways.

Eat Live Thrive Diet

Eat, Live Thrive Diet  helps women learn how to lose body fat permanently and how to improve their brain function, disease resistance, increase energy and improve health.
The two authors have experience as health coaches who have dealt with the issues presented in this book.
The research Demetre and Thomson has done is evident through this book. I have been one of those they are trying to help and their advice seems sensible enough to follow. They also cover dietary issues which may come with age, such as gluten, and they talk about the advantages and disadvantages with these foods
This would be a good book for any lady who is approaching, or is in midlife.

Of Fire and Lions

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
I have been reading other people's reviews on this book and I am amazed that I have not read a book by this author before.
Of Fire and Lions is a fictional retelling of the life of Daniel, as told through a character named Abigale.
 The author, Mesu Andrews is a masterful storyteller. The book is filled with details which show that she knows the details of Daniel's story.The characters' story lines are riveting and developed well. I enjoyed this book and now look forward to reading some of her other novels.
I give this my highest praise.

Book Review: The Way of the Warrior

I was given this book by Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for my honest review.
This book spoke to my soul more than I was expecting. I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the word Warrior in the title but I was not disappointed in receiving this book to review. I often look at my calling and wonder if I am doing what God calls me to do with it. I also want to grow towards God as I minister to it. This book showed me how important the person inside of me is, how powerful it is.
In order to understand peace we must recognize the warrior within. We need to train and then fight for those around us. We may face pain, but this pain does make us stronger so we can be more powerful for God.
I believe one of the reasons that this book reached me what that the author wrote with such authority and knowledge. He wrote that words that help me see how to train, how to become a warrior for God.
I recommend this book with my strongest voice.

Book Review: Daily Question for You and Your Child

I received this book from WaterBrook in exchange for my honest review.
When I first glimpsed at the cover of this book, The Daily Question for You and Your Child, then read the description, I thought this is the perfect book for either me to share with my grandchildren or to give to my daughter. After looking at it I still feel that way.
This is a 3 year journal which has 365 questions in it. The pages are like diary entries with a each day having a place to put a response for each of three years. I think this is wonderful as children can change their responses each year when asked.
Some of the responses involve writing a short story about an object, or to say what makes them feel a certain way, like joyful. There are also questions about their creativity or telling about traditions. This is just a tiny bit compared to what else this book has in it. I wish I had a book like this when my children were small, but I am so glad it is available today.
For parents, grandparents or those that care for children I feel this is a special way to spend some one-on-one time with a child in your life.
I highly recommend it.

Children's book review: When God Made You

This book, When God Made You, is one which made me smile from the time I saw the cover until I turned the last page. Matthew Paul Turner created a book full of sing-song rhyme which will make children realize how special they are to God. The illustrations by David Catrow are as creative and beautiful as the verses inside. Just hearing someone read the ways that God has shown he loves you helps to draw the reader and child closer to God and each other. I cannot say enough good things about this book.

I highly recommend this book to parents, grandparents, anyone that would like to encourage a young one with God's love.
