children's book review: Magnus

Magnus is such a big dog that it is difficult for him to live at home or play with other. When danger comes near, however, he show that this big dog can be a big hero.

So cute. I love the story and the illustrations. I look forward to sharing this with my grandchildren soon.

Book Review: House Trained

When I first saw this book's cover I though I cannot wait to read this novel.

Alex is married to Barry. She is an interior designer and a perfectionist. These two decided not to have children, however, they did adopt a labradoodle. Suddenly, Barry finds out that he is a father and a grandfather. And an ex that is trying to work her way back.

This book is a great book to read. It is easy to fall for the dog and the baby in this book. I loved this book from the first page to the last and I recommend it to anyone.

Book Review: Rescue Me, Maybe

In Rescue Me, Maybe, Jane Bailey has lost her dog and husband to cancer. She felt guilty about her husband because of relational difficulties and because she grieved more for the dog. She decided to go back to her home town in San Diego.

On the way she stops in Arizona at a family B&B. While here she helps her Aunt Sugar run things for a short while. Soon she finds a hungry, very nice pup and she helps it. As with most dogs, this one made a change to Jane's life.

Whereby I was expecting this to be a tear-jerker, it was really a touching story in a positive way. The characters that Jackie Bouchard created are complex and quirky. There are themes of friendship, family and love throughout the book and anyone that is an animal lover will enjoy this book.

book review: Whippoorwill

Oh my, I loved this book. Clair is a young girl who is raised by her father. The Stewarts are the neighbors next door. They neighbors also have a dog, Wally, who is always chained in the backyard. When Clair decides to do something for this dog things begin to happen which change lives.

This book is written for young adults, but I enjoyed it also. It is a book that tugs at the heart while it makes it sing. I cannot sing this book's praise enough.
