My husband thought that it was funny that I was going to review this book. I have never been a fan of this book of the Bible. If I had been presented it the way this book does, when I was younger, perhaps I would have felt differently. The author made it a fun read by presenting the book of Job as a poem. Bond also stresses faith even though Job has so many trying times. The illustrations by Todd Shaffer are perfect also. They are bright and colorful, but yet still portrays the times of the story.
I would read this book to children with ease and I would recommend it to my family and friends. Thank you Mr. Bond and Mr. Shaffer.
I was given this book by NetGalley and P&R Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoy reading different commentaries on books of the Bible to give me a fresh perspective or perhaps to introduce me to ideas I had never heard before. This book discusses the three books of John. He looks a short passage at a time as he personalizes them with stories and his own insights.
