Book Review: Lock, Stock and Over a Barrel

I enjoy the writing of Melody Carlson and this book has all of the qualities that I enjoy, except for one. I believe that the story left me hanging. I thought at first that, perhaps, not all the pages downloaded, but this was not the case.

The author does a great job of creating an interesting story line and she has a knack for helping build the characters so that there is a connection between the reader and the character. I also felt that the book kept moving nicely.

If the reader enjoys stories that are obviously part of a whole, they will not mind the ending. However, I feel if a reader is to pick up the second book they will be totally lost, just as I was frustrated by the ending of this one.

I was given this book by NetGalley and B & H Books in exchange for an honest review.
