Robert the Bruce - King of the Scots by Michael Penman is a well-researched book about the Scottish leader against England at Bannockburn. As a person that is well-versed in this area, I found the information interesting and factual. However, if a person unfamiliar with this topic, were to come across this book, they may find it a little difficult to stay with the writing.
Penman did have supportive material to support his research into this hero that was not afraid to lead by example.
