Book Review: The First Christmas Carol: A Miser, A Manger, A Miracle

Before we begin, The Christmas Carol is a touchy subject in my house. To my husband, it is not Christmas without it and yet, I could easily do without it. This version is the exception to my rule.

This insightful book takes place at Jesus's birth. The innkeeper is the miser, however, I felt that word was almost too nice for him. He almost seemed heartless, worse than Scrooge. But through the miracles of Christ's birth he was changed.

The characters were so well written. I almost did not want to read it because the innkeeper was so hateful, but I knew, from the Dicken's tale that there would be a reversal to his story.

Such a wonderful book and story I would highly recommend it to all of my friends, family and all.

Book Review: Land of Silence

Land of Silence is a beautifully written Biblical fiction.

Elianna is known in the Bible as the woman who was healed of a 12 blood issue simply by touching Jesus' clothing. The author makes this woman a courageous woman of faith while staying true to Biblical detail.

This woman had her dreams stopped almost before they started, at a young age. However, she never gave up, and she held on to God's love for her. This book is an amazingly written book which I cannot possibly say enough positive things about.

Book Review: Doctor Dog

Doctor Dog is filled with heart-warming and heart melting stories. M.R. Wells was able to draw from different sources of ways that dogs have been shown to help others, even as those others were caring for them. She was also able to share the relationship between each of these stories and the love of God.

Each of these stories touched me in different ways and I commend the author on the work and the love that she was able to share through this book. I would recommend this book to any of my friends and family members who are lovers of dogs.

Book review: Unstuffed

My house is filled with stuff. Yarn, books dvds and clutter. Ruth Soukup has written a book that is going to help me get a firmer hand on decluttering.

This action involves more than the house though, it also includes getting rid of the extra things in my mind and my soul. The author shares her story, truths from the Bibles and plans to be put in place to help each reader get rid of the litter in our lives.

Within this book are ways to make instant changes that help to meet the reader's vision for their homes, ways to deal with things that come with kids, facing those things that seem to sabotage our plans and so much more.

For anyone that want to make a difference in the home, mind or soul they call their own, I would highly recommend this book.

Wonderful book to read. It covers a variety of subjects in the Bible from a personal view. Through these teachings that Jim George presents, Christians are given a foundation of information to share with others. This is a perfect book for Christians, no matter how far in their journey they are on.
