Book Review: Let There Be Light An Opposites Primer

I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is such an attention-getting book for little ones. Through this book children can be introduced to how God created all. Each page has a little reading about God, then the colorful pictures have the opposite word written in big print. So one page may say "Wet" over the water that God created and then the next page will have "Dry" for the land.
This book makes my heart soar as I think about reading it to my grandchildren.
I recommend this to parents, grandparents, classrooms, to everyone with a little one in their lives.

Book Review: Philippians

I have used Word Writers for my individual Bible Study before and I enjoyed this one while studying the book of Philippians. The writer offers excellent insight into the Word. I was able to find new things as I worked my way through.

This would make an excellent study as a group or as an individual.

Book Review: Raging Storm

This book, The Raging Storm, is the second book in The Remnant Series. Each book has been well-written and will make the most sense if they are read in order.

A solar flare wiped everything out. Fires are everywhere and smoke makes the air hard to breathe. This is just the beginning. This brings the reader into the book and then you want to stay there until the end. This breath-taking book will make you want to stay put for hours until it is finished. After this, I am ready for the next one.

Book Review: Coffee For Your Heart

This book has inspiration on each page. Coffee For Your Heart is made up of forty entries praising the Lord. It shows how loved we are by him. It also has scripture and times of sharing. Each chapter encourages the reader to look at their soul to answers the questions and then pray the prayer provided.

The author, Holley Gerth, has written other books which show her faith in an authentic way which speak to the reader. She knows how to lift you up and give you hope.  Each entry is very quickly read, but the words will stay with you the entire day. There were so many days when I felt that she knew exactly what I needed to hear on that day. Those are moments which keep me coming back to inspirational books.

Book Review: the 20 Hardest Questions Every Mom Faces

I wish that I had this book when my children were younger. I don't know how many times I would wonder if the choices my husband and I made were the best from the Lord's view or if we were just set in our ways.

All of the author's advice in the 20 hardest questions every mom faces is steeped in biblical knowledge. I highly recommend this book to every mother. Such a blessed source.

Book Review: 101 Simple Ways to Show Your Husband You Love Him

I love books by Kathi Lipp and this one is my latest favorite. Before she does anything else she begins with a husband personality test. As all wives know, each hubby or couple is different. That makes a big difference between this book and others which I have read in the past. Each of the ideas are very easy to do and they are fun. I love to find new ways of surprising my hubby in new ways and Kathi Lipp's tips will help me to be creative.

Book Review: Becoming a Woman Who Knows God By Name

There are many names by which God is known throughout the Bible. Included Jehova Jireh, Jehovah Shalom and so many more. This book helps the reader to take a deeper look into each of these names and why they are used.

I found this book to be well-written and researched. It is amazing how many names there are for God and what each of them mean. I recommend this for Christians and Churches. I believe this should find a place on shelves in these places.

Book Review: 52 Weeks through the Bible

James Merritt is a minister who has decided to share his love of the Bible in 52 Weeks Through The Bible.

Through this guide he is able to show how the Bible works together through events, people and the narrative throughout biblical history. He also takes time to share the importance of the events of some of the days that Christians have heard about over the years. some of these include the story of Ruth, Jerusalem's fall, and the restoration which is to come. As he looks at each of these I felt like I was hearing about them from a new point of view which I felt to be enlightening.

I feel like this devotion is perfect for all Christians or even those that are thinking of joining the Christian walk. I look forward to reading it again in a more leisurely fashion in order to absorb some more of his thoughts.

Book Review: Doctor Dog

Doctor Dog is filled with heart-warming and heart melting stories. M.R. Wells was able to draw from different sources of ways that dogs have been shown to help others, even as those others were caring for them. She was also able to share the relationship between each of these stories and the love of God.

Each of these stories touched me in different ways and I commend the author on the work and the love that she was able to share through this book. I would recommend this book to any of my friends and family members who are lovers of dogs.

Book Review: First and Goal

First and Goal, by Jake Byrne, is written for young people, but I believe there are lessons for everyone in this book. My son was a football player, so I could relate to many of the devotions throughout. Each section begins with a title that is related to football, such as Practice Film, Trainer or Draft Choice. This is followed by a definition of the term, then the lesson, including Bible references.

It is easy for those that are training for a sport to lose sight of what is truly important and this book helps to ground them in this foundation.

Byrne has a gift of being able to reach people with his words and I would highly recommend this book to youth and parents.

Book Review: What if God Wrote Your Bucket List?

The title of this book grabbed my attention and then the author's writing style kept me engaged. We all have things that we would like to do before we die, but what if this list were written by God. Payleitner broke the book down into short chapters with support from the Bible. Plus he had a way of bringing humor into each part of the book with makes the book a quick read.

I love this book and plan on buying it for others that I love.
