In honor of the Royal Marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan, Dover sent me these three book to look and give my honest review.

Yarn Whirled
The book Yarn Whirled the Royal Family is filled with easy yarn crafts which require the used to wind yarn to make most of the members of the royal family. Inside the book there are pictures and patterns of each of the following:

Diana, Princess of Wales

Included are detailed instructions on how to make the figures and the materials that are needed. I can see the person who uses this book could have hours of fun and then have some beautiful creations to display or give as gifts.
I think that this would be a book that most crafters would enjoy

Harry and Meghan Paper Dolls
The Harry and Meghan Paper Dolls book is filled with fun and colorful outfits for Prince Harry and Meghan. It comes with a basic figure of the two, then for Meghan the outfits she wore to the Invictus Games, what she wore for the official announcement of their engagement, the interview outfit with the BBC, the World AIDS Day Charity Fair outfits, the official engagement photo outfit, her pre-Christmas luncheon with the Queen, Christmas

Harry's outfits include those that correspond with those which Meghan wore.

Each item is printed on sturdy paper and the figures include a stand-up base to help make dressing and displaying easier. Some of the items may not be easy for children to cut out, but with help from a grown-up they could enjoy them also.

This is a fun way to commemorate this special time

Harry and Meghan A Love Story Coloring Book 
This book has pictures from the Royal romance. From the time they began dating through current times, the pictures express the love these two have for each other.

The pages are printed on perforated paper with the pictures printed on just one side. This way the artist can enjoy mounting their work, when finished without hiding the other side. The paper it is printed on would work with crayons, or makers. Plus the fact that they are printed only on one side, if the colors bleed through it will not harm another picture.

This would be appropriate for any followers of the Royal family or for those that enjoy coloring.

All in all, I feel these three book could give many hours of fun and creativity to anybody.

coloring book review: The Night Voyage

As my readers know, I love coloring books. When they are by Daria Song it is a double winner.

Like her other books, each page is filled with the intricate designs with a multitude of choices on how to color them. Each page is magical on their own whether they are filled with mystical mechanics, paper birds and flowers, teatime or more, they will keep the coloring going for hours.

In the back of the book are thumbnail copies of each of the pictures, an additional picture and a card to color (mine will go to my grandchildren.

Each page is printed on both sides on a heavyweight, non-perforated paper. The binding is sewn and glued, so they are not easily removed. Many designs cover both pages, so removing some of them would spoil some of the beauty anyways.

Many of the designs carry into the bound margins, which is not superb. The dust cover also can be colored on the inside and the out.

It will withstand most coloring materials except alcohol-based markers.

The beauty of the work and the fun in coloring make up for any shortcomings this book my have. Overall, I love it and recommend it to all.

Book Review: Pop Manga Coloring Book

I love coloring books and the innocent appearance of Manga. Put them together and you have this wonderful coloring book. I am always excited when a coloring book comes up for review and this one will be a joy to add my own flair to.

The book has a removable dust cover, which can be colored. The pictures are beautifully drawn and will be fun for adults or older children to color, although they do say to not be afraid to stray outside of the lines.

If there is one negative it is this, I like to take my pages out of the book while coloring and the binding on this book may make that difficult without tearing the pages. This will not keep me from enjoying the book however or recommending it to all who enjoy coloring.

Book Review: Wonderland: A Coloring Book Inspired by Alice's Adventures

To begin, I love coloring books and I love Alice's Adventures In Wonderland.  This book has both combined.

Wonderland, by Amily Shen is filled with beautiful illustrations to color. I think anyone that enjoys coloring, like I do, would enjoy this book.

It is a paperback book with large pages, filled with details. There are excerpts from the story at the beginning of each chapter, followed with pictures that go with the story.

There is a removable dust cover, which can also be colored.I use crayons and coloring pencils as my medium and the pages receive these colors very well. Each page is printed on each side.

Unfortunately, the pages are not perforated and some of the designs go into the binding area. These things make it a little difficult to work on some of the pages.

Even with these difficult issues, I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys coloring. It fits nicely in the niche that has recently come to the front...Adult coloring books.

Children's Book Review: Jesus Inspires Me

This book in a fun way to show children how "Jesus Inspires Me". Some of the coloring or activity page helps children learn how to know the heart and mind of Jesus," and the meaning of inspire. There are Bible verses throughout so the child can think about His Word while they are being creative.

I thought about keeping this book but then I thought my grandchildren will LOVE this book. I cannot wait to see the lessons and the fun they have while looking and coloring this book.

Coloring book review: Every Little Thing: A Flat Vernacular Coloring Book

I have enjoyed coloring, and coloring books, for as long as I can remember and I am thrilled with the "new" fad of adult coloring books that are on the market.

This book, Every Little Thing, is a compilation of coloring pages with a wide variety of themes. Every page was hand-drawn and, as is stated on the back cover, it reminds me of a kaleidoscope. Each page brings a grin as the anticipation of beginning the coloring process overcomes the artist inside.  

The artist is Payton Cosell Turner is a part of Flat Vernacular, a Brooklyn-based wallpaper studio. 

The book has a removable dust cover which is too shiny to color but the inner cover is just right. I do wish that the pages could be torn out of the book easier as I have discovered that there are times when it is difficult to color in this type of book format. Plus there are times when I like to display my artwork. There are five sections of the book, which makes it easier to separate the sets, but then there is the risk of wrinkles and creases. 

I love this book and look forward to more of this kind in the future. 

Book Review: The Time Chamber

This beautiful coloring book/story book in one is beautiful. The story is simple but the pictures help to express the meaning. Plus when finished, you can have so much fun filling in the pictures in any way imaginable. I love these books. I cannot wait to find another. Coloring and stories make a great combination.

Book Review: The Time Garden

This is a coloring book and a fairy tale all in one. When I received this book the story drew me in and then I saw all the possibilities with the illustrations.

I love coloring books and this one will not leave me bored. If anyone likes to color, like I do, this is a wonderful book. Or if there are children in your lives, they will enjoy the story to go with the drawings.
