Book Review: Mercy At Midnight

I know that if you have read my other entries you know that Sylvia Bambola is one of my favorite authors. This is a little different setting than others that I have read by her. This is set in today's time.

In Mercy At Midnight we are introduced to three different characters, then we are mesmerized by how their lives intersect and the consequences from their meeting.

First we have Cynthia Wells. She is a reporter who, while looking for a story, comes across so much more.

We then have Jonathan Holms. He is a pastor at a large church. God sends him to come to terms with a killer and the connection to him.

Finally, we have Stubby White. This is a man who cannot seem to help but have one bad turn after another. He turns to the mission where he has to decide which road to go down, the road to Gjod or the road he has the most experience with.

I always have a hard time putting books down by this author and this is no exception.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books filled with suspense.

Book Review: The Babel Conspiracy

Sylvia Bambola has written another great book. The Babel Conspiracy is my fourth book that I have read of this talented lady.

She has such a gift with words that they bring me right into the story as she tells it. Trisha, one of the main characters in the book is a Christian, however, like all of us, she is faced with temptation when she falls for a married man. She fights the temptation and turns to her work. Her job is to build the first nuclear powered aircraft. She remains strong in her faith.

Each of Sylvia Bambola's books are so different. This one deals with the political and spiritual atmosphere of the world.

I cannot give enough praise for this book. It is definitely one that I will treasure.

Book Review: Rebekah's Treasure

Rebekah's Treasure, by Sylvia Bambola, is a historical book which tells of the lives of the Jewish people during the times of Jerusalem's fall. When Rebekah and her husband leave the city they each take one valuable thing with them. This story centers around the item Rebekah takes, the cup from the Last Supper. The story tells about the dangers and struggles they each face, plus the characteristics of the cup which make others long after it.

I have loved each of the books by Sylvia Bambola. I love how she keeps her characters grounded in God no matter what they are facing. In a big way, this is a challenge for each of the readers, to help us remember to do this also.

This book deserves the highest rating I can give it. I would recommend it to everyone.

Book Review: The Daughters of Jim Farrell

Jim Farrell was hung for murder in the 1870's. His daughters, filled with disbelief that he could do this, hired an investigator from Pinkerton. The agent and the oldest daughter, Kate work closely together, mainly because she is the one that has the greatest resentment against the town. Virginia is looking for the true murderer, along with a miner. Charlotte's future-husband's family feels the hanging reflects badly on Charlotte's community standing. These three strong ladies face struggles yet they have a strong belief in their father.

Sylvia Bambola writes about strong female characters. I admire her writing and always look for more from her.
