Book Review: The Perfect Horse

The Perfect Horse transported me into the life of a horse and the value of it from the first page. This is a remarkable story of the rescue of priceless horses when World War II ended. Included in these were the Lipizzaner and Strong Russian horses. Those that were on the mission saw the importance of these animals and, in a way, it gave each of them closure.

Men from throughout Europe and the United States worked together to make this happen.

I fell in love with this book at the beginning, and was very satisfied with the ending. The writing was moving and made my heart travel with the heroic mission throughout.

I was given this book by NetGalley and Random House Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: Dynamo

Dynamo is the name of a horse, one of the main characters in this story. Throughout the book we see the relationship between Dynamo and Jeth.

Jeth has found himself at Rob and Katie Chilton's ranch. This ranch trains, shows and sells horses. For someone like Jeth, who loves horses and needs a breather from the hard times he has experienced, this may be the best place.

Dynamo is his challenge as he decides he should be the one to tame this horse. However, he is amazed at the spiritual lessons he is able to learn from this horse.

The author was able to use her own love and knowledge of horses to good use in this book. God's presence is shown throughout as she weaves the lessons that need to be learned in surprising ways.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves horses, or any animals.

Book Review: The Horse of My Heart

I may not own my own heart but I love them and I have 2 that live just down the road from me. I visit them all the time, along with my dog. We have become such friends and they will always have their own stories in my heart.

Horses are an important part of almost every child's life, whether they are the loyal steed for a television or movie hero, or beautiful parts of the landscape as we travel down the road, or even the ponies we visit at the petting zoos.

This book includes a variety of stories, all with these noble animals. some of them are the means to teaching a lesson, or rescue those who saved them first. Each of these stories are true and their owners are quite often as inspiring as the horses. These stories are touching, renewing and show God's love for us by giving us these amazing animals on the earth.
