Book Review: The Women of Easter

Liz Curtis Higgs is such a gifted writer. I was reading her bio where she says that her one goal is to help help us find the "grace of God with joy and abandon." You can tell by reading any of her works that this is exactly what she wants.

In The Women of Easter, Higgs looks at Mary of Bethany, Mary of Nazareth and Mary Magdalene and their story surrounding Christ. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. Each woman was so dedicated and faced many trials because of their love of Jesus.

This book is such a blessing in my life and I know that it would be the same for anyone who would pick it up and read it.

I was given this book by Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: A.D. 30

I began reading books by Ted Dekker when my daughter was in high school. He has a style that grabs your attention from the beginning and makes it difficult to put the book down.

The story is from the viewpoint of Maviah, a Bedouin slave. She is sent to bargan with King Herod in Sepphoris so her people may be set free. She has a couple of traveling companions, one of which want to go to see the man who is the Messiah, Yeshua. Along her journey, Maviah actually crosses Yeshua's path herself and this changes her life forever.

I identified with the fear that Maviah felt along the way and the feeling of the need to rely on concrete things and the love of the Messiah.

I was given this book by NetGalley and Faithwords in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: Wonder of Wonders by Keith Wall

Wonder of Wonders uses the Christmas story to lead the reader through 25 days of finding the Glory of God in their life. This book works best if started on the first day of December and then read through each day. It leads the reader through the events and people that make up this moment.
Keith Wall put together a wonderful collection in this book, which can be used year after year to help the Christmas season come to life in a special way.
