Book Review: Winter Snow Fun

I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book, Winter Snow Fun is part of a series called Tales of Buttercup Grove.
Skunk and Raccoon wake up to find the thing they have been waiting for, the first snowfall of the season. They invite all of their winter friends for a fun play time. Then the snow begins to melt. Does this mean the end to the amazing play time? All of the friends learn that fun times don't have to end just because plans change.
This was such a cute book. The illustrations and the story are sure to catch the attention of children. Showing children that they do not need to feel disappointment just because plans change, they can still play with their friends.
I loved this book and recommend it for children, parents, grandparents or any adult to share with a child.

Book Review: The Drummond Girls

I love the title of this book, The Drummond Girls: A Story of Fierce Friendship Beyond Time and Chance.  Having said that, I requested this book and then put off reading it, for one reason or another. As often happens, when I did pick it up, I loved the story within.

There are eight girls who first met, as waitresses, customers or bartenders, in Michigan at Peegeo's Food and Spirits. It then took off at an engagement celebration at Drummond Island. This trip formed a friendship stronger than they anticipated. Each year since they go to the same location, no matter what has happened in their lives. Now, one of their friends is beginning to loose her memories, so they plan on helping her remember.

This book makes me remember the friendships I had throughout my life and how, at the time, we thought we would always see each other or, at least stay in touch. I say Bravo to the Drummond Girls for staying with this commitment and not allowing anything to come between them.

Book Review: Maggie Malone Makes a Splash

Maggie Malone has mostly magical boots (MMBs) which she wears to go on great adventures. Maggie is having problems with her friends Elizabeth and Maggie who want to try out for the swim team. Then Maggie lets them know about a problem which they do not believe. Maggie sets out to try to prove that she is telling the girls the truth. She puts on her boots and becomes the daughter of an oceanographer. She has to do many jobs that are not all fun, like swabbing the deck of the boat they are using to get to a coral reef. There are positives and negatives about this trip, just as there are in her other life.

These books help children see how to deal with real problems, even while they are having fun reading about Maggie. Hopefully, this book will help children when faced with times when their friends do not believe them.
