Book Review: The Faith of a Mockingbird

The Faith of a Mockingbird, is a small group Bible study that is based on To Kill a Mockingbird. Each of the characters and most of the story is used as the basis for the study, then Matt Rawle goes to the Bible to show scripture that shows how we can us the two books to bring love into the readers lives.

This is a wonderful book to use as a group or even on your own to show how to bring peace and love into your lives by using the best seller by Harper Lee and the Bible as its foundation. I was amazed at how the author was able to do this in a thoughtful manner that left me thinking about the lesson throughout the day.

Thank you to NetGalley and Abingdon Press for sharing this book with me in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: How to Enjoy Reading the Bible

How to Enjoy Reading Your Bible, by Keith Ferrin, re-opened my eyes to the different ways to open the heart, mind and soul to reading the Bible. He uses various analogies and hints as to how to face what can be a daunting task. He uses examples such as interrupting a movie to discuss each scene, receiving a letter which is filled with blessings and so much more. Some of these analogies I have heard before but I had filed them away and forgot about them. This is a wonderful learning tool and refreshing book. It can be used individually or as a group as there are discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

Keith Ferrin performs one-man presentations of entire books of the Bible.

I was given this book by the publisher, Bethany House, the author and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: Praying Through Hard Times

Praying Through Hard Times by Linda Evans Shephard is a book that is written for everyone. Each person, at some time in their life, will face difficulties. This book gives encouragement, through God's Word, which can guide and comfort each person. Shephard wrote a book that can be used as an individual study or as a group study guide.

As I have faced many difficulties throughout my life, looking back, this book would have been such a help and in the future it provides a secure feeling knowing that it is there to guide me through that time.

I was given this book through the publisher, author and bookfun.org in exchange for my honest review.
