The time of "The Troubles" was devastating, for all. When I first read about this time, I could only think of how bad people were to be willing to kill others. I forgot that they were all PEOPLE and there are two sides to every story.Only With Blood pulled me into to a time when a man needed to have a heir to pass their property on to. Jack Flynn, dying with tuberculosis has decided to purchase Caitlin Spillane, a 17 year old who wanted to go to university.
Along comes Donal Kelly, with ties to the IRA, who also has desires for Caitlin.
This book talks about a difficult time and the effects on many different types of people.
I feel everyone should read a book like this so they can understand a bit of what this country felt.
