I work on them with prayers.

I pray they bring you peace

I pray they bring you joy.

I pray they give you warmth

The Rocky Road to Ruin

I loved this book by Meri Allen. I do enjoy cozy mysteries and this is up there with one of my favorites.

When you pick up this book to read a bowl of ice cream should be close at hand to help fit the atmosphere..

As for the mystery, there were enough surprising happenings to keep me enthralled. I was on my toes through the entire book. This is a fun series. I cannot wait to read the next book.

Murder at the Royal Botanic Gardens

 

A pending wedding, a healing plant and murder. They are perfect together. This is the first of these books that I have read and now I will be going back to read the others in this series. This book includes old friends and enemies..

In this book Wrexford and Charlotte are facing these good and bad plans together. There is a reuniting of Charlotte with her brother, who happens to have befriended the murdered man.

I love the twists and turns through this book and I was never lost by not reading the previous books. To top the whole book up Wrexford and Charlotte have their wedding at last.

I highly recommend this book to mystery readers as well as others.

Secrets of the Happy Soul

 

This is an interesting book which shows us how God wants us to be happy. Plus it shares how he would like us to accomplish this. Our happiness is important to God. He did not create us for unhappiness.

This book is broken into sections. The first section talks about the happy soul. 

The second section talks about the secrets. These include: Focus on God; Resolved to follow God's Way; Attached to God's Word; Dependent on God's Provision; Confident in Who They Are; Surrendered to the King.

It is not always easy to remember about how our souls can be happy, especially in difficult times, however, this book is a good guideline.

I recommend this book highly, especially if you are looking for encouragement.

This book, Brave, begins with a message to the parents along with names of books that may help the parents. Next is a note to the teenagers followed by the rules to how to read the book. The rules aren't difficult, just a reminder that it is your book and you can do what you may once to understand the book.

The third section is Hope. This talks about how to turn to God and how He can help overcome worry and anxiety.

Each section consists of stories, advice and a lot of space to write.

I think so much of this book that I am going to give this book to my granddaughter in a few year.

I highly recommend Brave. 

The Essential Andrew Murray Collection

This book includes three of Andrew Murray's books. I like Murray's books because he breaks ideas that could be difficult to understand into words that everyone can understand.

The first book is Humility. In this book Murray uses Jesus as an example to how Christians can live a life with humility. 

Abiding is a 31 day devotional. It covers how Christians can live a life filled with God. This is an excellent resource for a devotional time.

The third book is Living a Prayerful Life. I am a prayer  warrior so I was able to find many thoughts for my prayers. In here he talks about the prayer life, the inner room and the deepest secret of Pentecost.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. It is excellent.

This is a little, but powerful book . I enjoyed looking at one entry a day and placing the wisdom from the page into my heart for the day.

These entries consist of the Bible verse to be considered, as well as the meaning and how it can be applied. There are also additional readings included. 

It is not meant to be read in any certain order, so you may read them in order or skip around.

I believe this book is very useful not just in the time of the pandemic but through the worries and anxieties than confront us every day.
